Vauxhall To End The White Man Reign of Terror With The All-Electric Vivaro-e
Auto News

UK motorists up and down these Brexit divided shores are united in the knowledge that the days of white van man road terrorism is nearing an end. Vauxhall is the unlikely separatist revolutionary taking the fight to thousands of white van man drivers. The Vivaro-e van dispenses with the age-old diesel engine and in its place is a radical all-electric powertrain. Customers will be offered two power outputs.

The Vivaro-e is powered by an electric motor with a power output equivalent to 136bhp and 260Nm of torque. The standard range Vivaro-e will house a 50kWh battery which equates to around 143 miles. The long-distance Vivaro-e will offer a driving range of up to 330 miles courtesy of a 75kHw battery capacity.

Charging the Vivaro-e can be done through a standard wall socket but that will take up to 10 hours to fully recharge. An optional home wall charger will speed up the process to around 4 hours. The fastest way to recharge is by using a public charging station.

A 100kW charging station will take 30 minutes to recharge from 0-80 percent for the standard range Vivaro-e and 45 minutes for the long-range edition. The all-electric van is available in three body variants, crew cab, platform cab, and as a people carrier. The maximum payload is almost the same as the diesel versions give or take a few KGs here and there.
