The sinking ship that is Nissan, formerly run by fugitive fraudster Carlos Ghosn, is finally doing something right for once in its risible product history and life cycle. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t buy the Nissan Leaf if you handed it to me on a large solid gold platter. But I would consider buying this Nissan Leaf Nismo RC. For DCB HQ to admit to such a thought crime is a break from our traditional Nissan bashing. The Leaf Nismo RC has been developed and created for… no particular purpose.
A life without purpose is akin to being a politician, or the Editor of the Dailymail. Or actually working for Nissan. Nissan says that the Nissan Leaf Nismo RC is a working prototype, a testbed vehicle to benchmark future EV technology. The Leaf RC generates 322hp and 640Nm of torque, and achieves the 0-62mph sprint in 3.4 seconds, courtesy of an all-electric twin-motor and all-wheel-drive drivetrain.
That’s all very well and fine, but you can get this kind of performance now form a Tesla. Why is Nissan fucking around with this publicity stunt for fuck’s sake? For all we know this could be a distraction from an impending bad news day.
Anyway, all Nissan Leafs should have this wide-body look, it might even persuade us to buy a Leaf… no, no what the hell!? Thought police, where is the thought police when you need them?
