Is It Fair To Label BMW Makers of Premium Luxury Rubbish?
Auto News

It’s a critical analysis day here at DCB HQ. We often call out BMW for making premium luxury rubbish vehicles. But is it fair to slap such a label upon a company that is seen as an esteemed motoring brand? Afterall BMW is considered to be peerless among its contemporaries. Should the Daily Car Blog retract such unnecessary statements? what is the evidence that BMW actually makes premium luxury rubbish products?

The answer is fucking no. We’re not going to backtrack like a bear on a unicycle. Here is the latest evidence of BMW’s premium luxury rubbish standards. America’s NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Association) has ordered BMW to recall almost all the cars it sold between 2018-2020.

According to the NHTSA the recall is being issued due to a faulty rearview camera. Apparently, the rearview display switches off. The roll call of affected models is a long list of shame. From the 7 Series down to the 3 Series. Even the ultra-luxury BMW Rolls Royce isn’t immune from the recall. The total amounts to 257,481 affected vehicles.

The great BMW recall of shame will commence on November 19, 2019. Owners will be instructed to take their cars to their nearest BMW dealership to get the camera software updated for free. A relatively simple fix. But why is it not possible to do a software update over WiFi?

So is it fair to label BMW “premium luxury rubbish?”. If you also take into consideration the recent UK recall where an alert was issued over a possible fire risk then the answer is absolutely fucking yes. And with that, the critical analysis day is over.
