This is the all-seeing all-knowing Google XC40 Recharge, or as it should be known, the world’s first fully-electric omnipotent SUV. Here’s the deal, Volvo has integrated the Andriod operating system into the Google XC40 Recharge. That means when you eventually decide to buy the XC40 Recharge you have signed a death warrant to your personal data. You see Google will gather all your data and then sell it back to you in the form of targeted ads. They will also sell your data to third party vendors who will also sell on your data. But they can not technically say your data will be sold. But they can share your data, for a fee of course.

Then one day, many weeks or months from signing the terms & conditions you will receive a call from Frank O’Donnell who works in a call center based in Dublin Ireland, just a few miles outside of Abuja. Frank will try to sell you something you don’t need. Or, he is representing a deceased client who left $6,000,000 in his/her will but has no heir. It could be yours if hand over $50,0000. All this will happen because you decided to share your personal data with the Google XC40 Recharge.

But if you are OK with that what is the Google XC40 Recharge all about? It’s a fully electric SUV, basically, it uses the electric drivetrain from the Polestar 2. The Google XC40 will be powered by two electric motors, one at the front, the other at the rear. The combined AWD power output will be a rather handy 402bhp and a massive 660Nm (487lb ft of torque). The 0-62mph time will take just 4.9 seconds, top speed will reach a respectable 112mph.

The range is certified for around 248 miles and fast charging technology allows you to recharge to 80 percent in 40 minutes. Everything else about the X40 is more or less the same old same old. Except for the Android infotainment system and the price, the XC40 recharge will retail from £50,000 when it launches Q4 2020. The Google XC40 Recharge is the first of the pure electric Volvo era. But beware, the Google Android operating system is an omnipotent being, AI-driven, machine learning, all-seeing, all data gathering, sending you ads to buy things you do not want. And you have no control over whoever gets their hands on your data.
