So… What’s So Special About The Range Rover Velar?
Features
Here you have the newest Range Rover on the market. Welcome, the Range Rover Velar. This isn’t just any vehicle – it’s your own personal butler, waiting on you hand and foot. In terms of what Land Rover have been saying, the new Velar SUV is jam packed full of new technology that will “create an in-built technology butler” which is all down to the “all-new, cutting-edge infotainment system.” What is this, you may ask? Infotainment is a collection of software and hardware in vehicles that provide audio and video entertainment along with information content. Peter Virk (the Director of Connected Car and Future Technology) said that this incredibly intelligent system “learns from you and anticipates your needs, serving what you want, when you want it – but never intrudes… like any good butler.” Now doesn’t that intrigue you ever more to learn about what exactly this beauty can do? Land Rover says that the Velar connects the void between the Range Rover Sport and the Evoque. The void being the fact that although the Sport is stunning and drives wonderfully, it’s a real pain to drive when you get onto the tight streets around the city because of its size. Specifics The Velar gives you the chance to power it by five different engines. They vary in sensibility and speed. The most sensible being a 178bhp 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel, which is good for 0-60mph in 8.4secs, a top speed of 130mph and more than 52mpg. The highest is a 2.0-litre diesel with 237bhp, a 6.8sec 0-60mph time, a top speed of 135mph and a slightly lower economy at 49mpg. The levels of specification start as the standard Velar, through the usual S, SE and HSE specifications, followed by an even sportier appearance for you rockstars out there with the R-Dynamic kit. Prices will start from between $40,000 – $50,000, and they go all the way up to around $80,000 or more. Build Land Rover say that this new Velar had been build from all sustainable materials which means that recycling has been put to action (which is always good for the environment.) The Velar obviously used quite a bit of aluminum, so think of all those cans that were recycled to build just one of these cars. It also has a brand new design to give Range Rover an overall makeover. Range-Rover-VelarDust-Buster-HillClimb
