And you know what it works, whether the Mazda MX-5 deserves the title of the 2016 World Car of The Year Award really is down to personal opinion.
I mean whats the value of a Mazda anyway?
The MX-5 has a lot of value because despite having a tainted reputation in the UK as being a ‘hairdressers car’ it’s actually one of the best drivers car on the market. It’s an example that you don’t need to spend £300k on a luxury supercar.
And we are not being biased when we say that because we have fallen out with the UK Mazda PR department because of a certain individual who has a duplicitous and bullying nature about her.
However Mazda has a new, limited edition model, it’s called the MX5-RF and features a retractable roof, Mazda refer to it as a Fastback, we say the MX-5 RF looks a little bit strange in Fastback styling.
The MX-5 RF goes on sale in the UK in March 2017, is available in six model specifications and is priced from £22k to £28k.
The flagship Launch Edition will be limited to 500 models and will be powered by a 160ps 2.0-litre SKYACTIV-G engine.
The Launch Edition is marked out by its unique twin-tone roof, BBS wheels, black door mirrors and black rear spoiler.
Available with a choice of free-of-charge Soul Red or Machine Grey metallic paint, it also comes with a Safety Pack as standard, while the exclusive feel continues inside with Alcantara trim and Recaro seats.
RF’s powered by the 1.5-litre 131ps engine will arrive in dealerships in May.
