America and Americans we can never thank them enough, after all they saved us, the British, and the Europeans in WW1 and WW2. What would have happened if the Germans had won doesn’t bear thinking about. Some have an easy answer like “we would have been driving a Mercedes” which is clearly missing the point. We would have been enslaved is the real answer. That’s why the Americans, whether you like em’ or not, are the pall bearers of freedom and hope. Yes they tried to stop communism in Vietnam with devastating consequences. Yes they invaded Iraq and subsequently destabilized an entire region. And yes they even supported the formative years of the Taliban to be used as a proxy fighting force during communist Russia’s rule of Afghanistan. And we know what happened, a splinter cell formed to create Al Qaeda. The rest as they say is a new unwinding bloody chapter in the history of the formative years of the 21st century. And you know what else the Americans gave us? No not the Klu Klux Klan, not randomly shooting unarmed African Americans, not God fearing militia folks like “Tarp Guy”, and not allowing neo-nazis to fester seemingly at will while being suspicious of Muslims. The Americans gave us the way forward, they allowed us to dream dreams, build business empires and they gave us Donald Trump. They also gave us the art of the hot rod, that is to modify the hell out of your car. The British can’t do it as well as the Americans, do you know what we have as an equivalence? Flat cap wearing members of car clubs and societies, who drink tea and eat crustless sandwiches in the rain on cold and wind swept days. And don’t forget the tweed and the three piece suits.
