Mercedes GLC Crossover SUV Breaks Cover
Auto News
While we have been on a mid summer break here at DCB Towers Mercedes have been feasting on the premium crossover SUV market or rather they would like to have a bigger share of the pie currently filled by the likes of BMW’s X3 and the Audi Q5. The all new GLC is Mercedes freshly baked answer. And that pie is reconstituted, that is to say the all new GLC uses the C Class chassis, indeed you could be forgiven for thinking the GLC looks like a over sized C Class estate with a higher ride height. Mercedes will offer a familiar engine range, four in total for UK consumers, the 4-cylinder 2.2-litre turbo diesel and the 250d variant which will offer 168bhp and 201bhp respectively. Mercedes-GLC-CSUV-Rear UK buyers really like thier diesel’s but Merc will offer the GLC 250 a 4-cylinder, 2.0-litre petrol which is good for  208bhp. And yes the slow march to hybridization continues with the GLCe which uses the same 2.0-litre petrol and is combined with an electric motor giving a total output of 323bhp and a massive 600Nm of torque. Merc says the GLC 350e emits just 60g/km and can hit the 0-62mph mark in just 5.9 seconds. On the inside will be plenty of Mercedes premium leather and wood and the latest connected car technology meaning you really will be able to drive and eat your bowl of cereal at the same time. Mercedes-GLC-CSUV-Interior The new GLC is lighter than the GLK it replaces by 80kg and will include Mercedes’s 4MATIC four wheel drive technology for all models as standard. Mercedes will offer full air suspension as an option over the conventional steel spring and active damper setup. The Off-Road pack is another option. Mercedes-GLC-CSUV-Parked As the name suggests the ‘Off-Road’ pack gives you better off-road ability, this will be especially useful when tackling the pot holes and speed bumps of the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea,West London. Prices for the GLC start at £32k for interested UK punters, we say just go for a Land Rover. The Evoque is much more stylish and offer’s proper off-road ability and entry level models are around the same price. Were not biased here at DCB Towers. God save the Anglo-Saxon, British, German Queen.  Mercedes-GLC-CSUV-Profile
