Lincoln Continental Concept Revives Ultra Luxury Ambitions
Auto News

Lincoln is one of America’s oldest luxury automotive brands, it is in reality a division of the Ford Motor Company. Once you have overcome the initial disappointment try to look at it this way, Lincoln is to Ford what Lexus is to Toyota. Get it?

Got it…

So then meet the Lincoln Continental concept, no it isn’t a Bentley names sake, the Lincoln Continental brand was first made in 1939 and now the Continental brand is being revived.

Lincoln is sold mainly in the US, Middle East and China, however, Ford has noticed the growing rise in demand for ultra-luxury vehicles and so it’s about time to do something ultra-luxury.

The Lincoln Continental model designate has been in and out of production since 1939, it was last seen in roaming America circa 2002, and let’s hope the 2016 final production model keeps as close to the concept as possible because it looks rather nice to our eyes. Yes that’s right we Europeans can like American-designed cars.

American car designers create some of the best concepts around, only for the accountants to cause permanent misery when they get the red pen out and spoil everything by putting a minus next to expensiveness. Let’s hope the accountants over at parent company Ford dine with the Mafia.

As befits any luxury car the Lincoln Continental concept is about “Luxury at its best is about simplifying and quietly exceeding expectations, rather than being the loudest statement on the road,” said Mark Fields, Ford Motor Company president and CEO.

Under the skin, the Continental Concept is powered by a Ford 3.0-liter V6 EcoBoost engine and features ride-enhancing technologies and Adaptive Steering.

In fact, this concept is fully loaded with technologies, LED this and Laser that, but our hearts were beating to the fact the car rides on polished aluminum, painted-pocket 21-inch wheels. Oh the joys of inanimate objects

In our opinion, all concepts are defined by excessively large wheels. Nevertheless, the Lincoln Continental is a fine-looking concept that will, unfortunately, be toned down for the mass, albeit it limited, 1 percent of the market.
